Obituary

Cindy Lou Alex, age 75, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on November 6, 2026.

Cindy was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on February 3, 1951, to the late Raymond Linton Gifford and Leona Ann (Schradel) Gifford.

Cindy lived a life full of warmth, boundless energy, and an endless capacity for caring for those around her. Known widely for her selfless nature, she was a remarkable person who always put the needs of others before her own, taking quiet joy in making sure everyone else was happy and looked after first.

Throughout her working years, Cindy applied her strong work ethic and cheerful spirit as an office assistant for Fisher Flack and The Law Office of Carol Thomas. Beyond her professional life, Cindy’s days were filled with a rich array of passions and hobbies that kept her delightfully busy. She was an avid gardener whose immaculate landscaping was the envy of the neighborhood, and she took great delight in peacefully feeding the local birds and squirrels from her porch. Inside the home, she cherished lively evenings playing cards with her dear friends. When she was ready for an adventure, Cindy loved exploring the world, embarking on unforgettable cruises to destinations across the globe. Cindy leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and wonderful memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband Frank Alex. They were united in marriage on January 15, 1977. She is also survived by her son James Alex, and her daughter Jennifer (John) Nowosatka; three grandchildren, Lauren and Connor Nowosatka, and Alia Alex; her brother Randy Gifford; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dave Gifford, Rick Gifford, and Lori Haas.
