Christopher David Ables

Christopher "Chris" David Ables of Saginaw, Michigan, formerly of Seneca, South Carolina 

Beloved husband, father, son, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at his home. He was 39 years old. Christopher David Ables was born on March 11, 1985, in Oconee County, South Carolina, to Becky Shook LeBlanc and the late Randy Ables. Chris' love story began when he met the love of his life, Beth Ann Itoney, through a friend. Beth knew from the moment they met they would eventually get married. Everyone always said, from both sides of the family as well as his friends, Chris truly loved Beth. Following a whirlwind romance, they were united in marriage on October 6, 2014; she survives him. Chris had a gypsy soul and loved being on the go, which made a career in trucking the perfect fit for the last 15 years. The role of his lifetime, one he treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted husband and father. He had a mechanical mind and enjoyed tinkering, wrenching on, and fixing his cars. Chris loved adventure, especially camping, taking day trips, and spending time outdoors with family and friends. A family man by every sense of the word, Chris was selfless and carried with him an immense sense of responsibility, especially to those he loved. He also had an excellent sense of humor, from the little jokes he'd tell to the small zinger's, Chris had a gift of making other people laugh and smile. He'd literally take the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. Chris also had the innate ability to connect with people, having conversations and making friends wherever he traveled. He was kind, caring, and made Beth and the kids always feel safe and secure when he came home from a long haul. He will forever be remembered fondly for his big beard, for the beautiful love he had for those he loved, for his hard work ethic, and for creating many beautiful memories throughout his life. 

Surviving are his wife of 10 years, Beth Ann Ables of Saginaw; three children: Marcus Itoney of Saginaw; Kaileigh Ables of Saginaw; Aud Ables of Saginaw; mother, Becky LeBlanc of SC; a brother, Steven Ables of SC; a sister, Deanna Williams of SC. Also surviving are many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Randy Ables; grandparents: "nanny" Maryann Shook and "Papa" Aud Shook. 

A Funeral Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI, 48603. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate. Honoring the families wishes, cremation will follow the service. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family c/o Beth Ann Ables.
