Christine “Bubbles” Yvonne Villanova-Camargo

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at her home, with her family at her side. At the age of 72 years.

The daughter of the late Thomas Michael and Dolores Garcia (Figuroa) Villanueva, Christine was born on July 21, 1948 in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Saginaw High School. Christine married Francis “Frank” F. Camargo on May 9, 2007 in Saginaw, Michigan; he survives her. She worked for many years of dedicated and loyal service at St. Mary’s Hospital. Christine was a member of SS Casmir and George Catholic Church; she was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its choir. She was a member of the Moose Lodge 82, she would often volunteer for any work, especially Bingo. She enjoyed playing cards with the Euchre Club, gardening, cooking, going to the casino and hosting social gatherings. Christine loved music and enjoyed going to many concerts and traveling with Frank. Her family would describe her as kind, dedicated and outgoing individual. Above all, Christine cherished the time spent with her loving family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Frank; four sons: Christopher Villanova; Vicente Villanova; Matthew Camargo; Jeremy Camargo; a granddaughter: Lalani-Sita Morris-Villanova;. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Besides her parents, Christine is preceded in death by a sister: Herlinda (Earl) Prather; a brother: Tomas Villanueva.

The family would wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Compassus Hospice and their staff for their kind and compassionate care of Christine.

Honoring Christine’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Avenue, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Francis W. Voris, OFM Cap will officiate. Pursuant to the current state orders indoor building capacity is limited, face masks are required, and social distancing encouraged. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to help stop the spread of covid-19 in our community. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
