Christiane Barbara Charlotte
Gillett
April 15, 1949 – May 30, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christiane Barbara Charlotte Gillett, who peacefully departed this life on May 30, 2026, in Saginaw, Michigan. Born on April 15, 1949, in Goslar, Germany, to Rudi and Charlotte (Scholz) Pfropper, Christiane’s life was defined by resilience, determination, and a spirit that never wavered.
Christiane dedicated her career to the field of education, serving as a devoted Teacher’s Aide. Her commitment to her students and her unwavering belief in their potential left a lasting impact on countless young lives. Known for her headstrong nature, she faced every challenge with grace and tenacity — and she never hesitated to make her voice heard. That same strength shaped the deep love she poured into her family. Not a day passed without her responding to an “I love you” with her signature, heartfelt “I love you more.” Her sons and grandchildren were truly the center of her world.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Gillett, Kristopher (Lisa) Gillett, and Paul Gillett; her sister, Melinda (Scott) Champine; her grandchildren, Ryder and Marissa, Kaylie and Grayson, and Madeline and Mackenzie; a very special nephew, Joshua Champine; her sister‑in‑law, Sue Weinzierl; and her lifelong friend, Karen Hess. She also leaves behind many extended family members who will forever hold her memory close. Christiane cherished every moment spent with those she loved, and her family remained the cornerstone of her life.
Along with her parents, Christiane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Gillett, and her brother, Mike Pfropper.
Christiane will be deeply missed, yet her spirit, her lessons, and her love will continue to live on in all who knew her. Her memory will remain a beacon of strength, compassion, and devotion.
In keeping with Christiane’s wishes, cremation has taken place. At this time, no services are planned. She will be laid to rest with her family at a later date.
