Chester Robert Latty

 Saginaw, Michigan

 Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 8,2025 at the age of 96.

Chet was born on November 23, 1928, the son of Earl and Eva (Tyler) Latty. He married Loraine Latty (Goodside) who predeceased him in 1991. He was also married to Pat Tobin, who predeceased him and he was together with Joan Weber for 32 years.

Chet is survived by his three children, Chuck Latty (Lori) of Saginaw, Darla Danis (Bruno) of Fellsmere, FL, and Denise DeKett (Jim) of Buckley, MI: his grandchildren, Chris Latty (Valerie), Joe Latty (Ashley), Josh Latty (Kayla), Michelle Mullen (Jason), Eric Danis (Rachel), Luc Danis, Jessica DeKett, TJ DeKett (Sarah): and eight great grandchildren, Ragan, Hailey, Harper, Henry, Spencer, Farrah, Maxine, and Lemmy: his brother, Russel Latty and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his seven brothers, Earl, Claude, Herbert, Melvin, Roy, Hugh, Clare, and three sisters, Margaret, Irene and Florence.

 Chet proudly served his country with the Marines and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California where he often reflected back at the fun times they had while living there. Chet was a bricklayer, union business agent and Vice President of the Bricklayers, Masons, and Plasterers Union. He was a Golden Gloves boxer as well as an avid swimmer, runner and cyclist who spent many days at the local YMCA. He enjoyed running marathons and volunteered with many organizations. Chet started his day by reading three newspapers and spent a lot of time at the Thomas Township Library.

 A Celebration of Chet's life will be at  from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Roberts Park Soccer Pavilion, 455 S. Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609.
