Charles Henry Smith
Born July 16, 1932, at home in Sterling, Michigan, to Clarence Edward and Anna Mae (Goold) Smith, went to his heavenly home on July 14, 2020, from his residence in Auburn, Michigan, surrounded by family.
He married the love of his life, Nancy Marie Wyman on January 9, 1950.
He loved farming, beekeeping, conversation, debate, telling stories, and family; kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids.
He loved studying the Bible, preaching and teaching God’s Word, mentoring young men for ministry, telling others about Jesus and pastoring. He loved people and loved his church family.
He pastored two notable churches; Bible Baptist Church in Fosters, Michigan, and Bible Baptist Church in Mt. Orab, Ohio. He was in the ministry for 54 years.
He is survived by wife Nancy Marie (Wyman) Smith; daughter Terry L. and Jim Watt; son Frederick C. and Linda Smith; daughter Julie Anna Hall; son Nathan W. and Maryanne Smith; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents Clarence E. and Anna M. Smith; daughter Lisa Michelle; son-in-law Jimmy D. Hall; and five siblings.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Grace Baptist Church, 4619 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan, 48603. Rev. Ted House will officiate with burial to follow at LaPorte Cemetery in Freeland, Michigan. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020, at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48603.
