Charles Henry Bowden

Charles "Chuck" Henry Bowden of Merrill, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at his home. He was 85 years old. Chuck was born on March 15, 1939, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Samuel and Barbara (Strongrich) Bowden. He was a proud 1957 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation, he became an electrician working with local 557 in Saginaw. Chuck married the former Bernie Farwell in 1964, their union bringing two children, Dan and Linda. He later married Kathleen "Kathy" M. Schnorick on March 26, 1986, in New York; she survives him. Following the death of his father, he began working on the family farm for 10 years, later turning to work as an electrician. The role of his lifetime, one he treasured and cherished above all other, was to be a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was raised within the Lutheran Church Wisconsin Synod Faith. Throughout his life, Chuck was called to pursue perfection. He had an inventive mindset with the innate ability to design, create, or build anything over the years. What he loved the most was spending time shooting guns and woodworking. Later in life, he found a soft place in his heart for cats. Though Chuck was always right in every situation, he will forever be remembered for his honest and straightforward advice, for his ability to use charm and charisma when the situation arose, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Kathy M. Bowden of Merrill; a daughter, Linda (Richard) Malo of Saginaw; a son Daniel Bowden of Saginaw; four grandchildren: Tyler Malo, Kaitlyn Malo, Zachary Kim, and Jason Kim; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bowden of Saginaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sameul and Barbara Bowden; a brother, Samuel Bowden Jr.; a stepdaughter, Tammy LaRue.

Honoring Chucks wishes, cremation has taken place with no services planned. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Bowden Family c/o Kathleen Bowden. Arrangements have been entrusted to the W. L.
