Catherine C. Poyer "Cathy"

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 27, 2023. Age 68 years.

Cathy was born on January 14, 1955, daughter of the late Hank and Barbara (McGinnis) Clauss, in Saginaw. She married Gerard Poyer on September 14, 1973. He survives her. Cathy was a very nurturing and supportive mother. She had a selfless heart, caring for others and putting their needs before her own. Cathy managed to see the good in people and make the best out of any situation. She enjoyed listening to music, especially Stevie Nicks and Country Music. Cathy loved sunflowers, wind chimes and little trinkets. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Cathy will be remembered for her free spirit and seeing the beauty in the world.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Gerard Poyer; son, Matthew (Tara) Poyer; daughter, Jennifer (George) Gear; grandchildren, Carter LaFleur, Kaylie Poyer, Kelsey Poyer, Robert Hall, Chelsea Purdom, Dusten Holbrook and Bohdan Gear; great granddaughter, Finley Mae Hall.

Honoring Cathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00p.m., on Monday, April 3, 2023, at W. L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
