Blake, Catherine Margaret Saginaw, MI Passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at her granddaughter's home, age 89 years. Catherine Fries was born October 16, 1926 in Gagetown, Michigan the daughter of the late Jacob and Katherine (Pries) Fries. She married Donald C. Blake October 28, 1944. He predeceased her January 23, 2000. Catherine was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church; an avid reader and enjoyed doing cross stitch. She was also an excellent seamstress. Catherine is survived by four children, Bonnie (James) Conner, Joyce Blake, Randall Blake and Patricia Powers; seven grandchildren, Jason Best Justin (Erica) Best, Donald (Brenda) Ortega, Michelle (Kevin) Hayes, Aaron (Amanda) Brady, Brian Brady and Shannon Brady; three great-granddaughters, Kathryn Ortega, Braliegh Hayes and Madison Brady; six great-grandsons, Preston Thomas, Chaston Hayes, Douglas Ortega, Jacob Ortega, Sean DeShone and Josh Best; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Catherine was predeceased by eight siblings. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 4705 Brockway. Rev. Daniel A. Garbow will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the church Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to St. John Ev.
