Passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at her home at the age of 89 years. She was born March 22, 1927 in Pike Creek, Texas, the daughter of the late Catarino and Virginia (Velasquez) Casillas. She married Tiburcio Olgine, Sr. on May 1, 1948; he predeceased her May 2, 2006. Katie had been employed in Saginaw at Dapper-Do, Gase's Bakery and also taught sewing classes at Tri-City SER. She was a member of SS Simon and Jude Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Las Damas. She enjoyed Mexican and Square dancing, making wedding, prom and bridesmaid dresses and sewing for Xochiquetzal Folkloric Dance Group. She is survived by eight children, Lucia (Ricardo) Medina, Bridgeport, MI; Tiburcio (Loreli) Olgine, Jr., Ionia, MI; Amalia Trevino, Saginaw, MI; Peter (Yolanda) Olgine, Fargo, N.D.; Theresa (Michael) Farquharson, Saginaw, MI; Thelma (Chip) Topham, Saginaw, MI; Rafael (Wendy) Olgine, Chesaning, MI; Guadalupe Olgine, Saginaw, MI; her brother, Gil Casillas; 25 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Katie was predeceased by four sisters, Grace Mata, Mary Dominguez, Victoria Flores, Nina Adams; three brothers, Joe Cassias, Roberto Casillas, Johnny Casillas; and one granddaughter, Tanya C. Medina. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at St. Francis de Sales, St. Christopher Campus. Fr. John Mancini, O.S.F.S., will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway from 6:00 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 2:00 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 9:00 p.m. Wednesday where a vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. They may then call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Liturgy. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
