Carolina "Caro" Liendo-Southwick

Carolina "Caro" Liendo-Southwick of Edmore, Michigan

Beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away unexpected as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was 67 years old. Carolina Liendo was born on August 15, 1954, in Saginaw, Michigan. She met the love of her life, Steven Allen Southwick, serendipitously through her sister-in-law. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on November 22, 2007, in Rock Springs, Wyoming; he survives her. She was previously employed with Kalfax Plastics in Greenville, Michigan for 14 years. Carolina enjoyed gardening and watching her Spanish Soap Operas (Telenovelas). She also enjoyed traveling across the country with her husband, as long as it didn't involve any bridges, waterways, or mountain tops. She always looked beautiful, took great pride in her appearance, and loved to shop, especially for new clothing. Carolina was a free-spirit and the strength and foundation of her family. The role of her lifetime was to be a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Carolina treasured and cherished the time she was able to spend with her family. She forever held a special place in her heart for all animals, especially her dog, Molly. Though she could be stubborn, she left her indelible mark in this world through her kindness and selflessness to anyone in need, her innate ability to connect with all people, and for the laughter and smile she brought to the lives of those she touched.

Surviving are her husband of 15 years, Steven Allen Southwick of Edmore; two daughters: Michelle (Webber) Mazurkiewicz of Edmore; Nicole Gray of Grand Rapids; three step-sons: Steven Southwick Jr. of Lake Isabella; Gregory Southwick and his fiancée, Megan Straus of Mt. Pleasant; Matthew (Casey) Southwick of Weidman; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Rosalinda Phenix of Belding; sister-in-law, Joan Heinitz of Hemlock. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents San Juana and Joel Grandy; two brothers, Jose and Luis Liendo.
