Carol Ann Carlton (Arnoldi)

Our loving mother, grandmother and “GG”, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Age 83 years.

Carol was born on March 24, 1942, daughter of the late Herman Arnoldi and Wilma (Chiles) and Albert Godo, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She married Ronald W. Carlton on January 25, 1958. He predeceased her on November 8, 2000. Carol was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bridgeport and active in the nursery ministry. She retired from Bridgeport Spaulding Community Schools Transportation as a special needs bus aide with many years of dedicated service. Carol was an active mother and troop leader with the Girl Scouts and Brownies. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping and feeding the small animals. Most of all, Carol, affectionately known as “GG” by her great grandchildren, filled her days with spending time with them. She loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carol will be deeply missed by her children, Dusty (Kathie) Carlton, Chris (Carey) Hook and Sue Miller; grandchildren, Jessica (Scott) Roberson, Amanda Miller, Ryan (Tanya) O’Connor, Corie (Rick) Vandesteene, David Miller, Breeann (Aaron) Shults, Sean O’Connor and Taniya Kemp; great grandchildren, Aubrey, Jonah, Elijah, Madelyn and Benjamin; brother, Ted Arnoldi; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Linda Korting and Janet Arnoldi and son-in-law, Pat O’Connor.

Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Bridgeport, 2400 King Road. Pastor J.D. Howell will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Monday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Bridgeport Baptist Academy.
