Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on November 20, 2018 at the age of 81 years. The daughter of the late Elwin and Alice (Barker) Lawcock was born on November 16, 1937 in Flint. She married David S. Cavanaugh on June 18, 1955; he survives her. Carol was a long-time teacher at Chesaning Public Schools where she retired from after 50 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, sailing and was an avid reader. Surviving besides her husband of 63 years; David are their children: Dawn Matusik, David C. Cavanaugh, granddaughter Jayne (Gerald) Morton, two great-grandchildren: Brie Morton, Gavin Morton, a niece, four nephews, and many relatives and friends. Besides her parents, Carol was predeceased by her daughter Kathy Cavanaugh and three siblings. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
