Carla (Boensch) Guzman of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, following a lengthy illness. She was 51 years old. Carla Boensch was born on January 4, 1975, Saginaw, Michigan, to Glenn and Ruby Boensch. She was a proud 1993 graduate of Heritage High School. She was an active member of DECA during high school, where she developed the confidence and poise that would define her as an exceptional debater throughout her life.

Surviving are a son, Oscar; parents, Glenn and Ruby Boensch; two sisters and a brother: Andrea Boensch and her boyfriend, Ben VanDyke, Frances (Scott) Kangas, and Joshua Boensch and his girlfriend, Courtney Oska; nieces and nephews: Alex and Isabel Cuthbertson, Elijah Sawatzki; Inara Boensch; uncles and aunts, Ben (Ann) Cortez, Jerry (Mary) Cortez, Viola (Julian) Gonzales; Tom Boensch, Don (Judy) Boensch, David (Kim) Boensch, Sue (Roger) Gammon, and Sally Boensch. Also surviving are many cousins.

She was preceded in death by a nephew, Ayden Glenn Boensch; grandparents: Francis and Lucille Boensch; Benigno and Esther Cortez; Aunt Patricia Boensch, Uncle Hernan Cortez, Aunt Guadalupe Aranjo, and Aunt Mary Cortes.

A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastor Tim Chapman will officiate. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
