Carl Edward Clark, a cherished father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on April 29, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 75. Born on November 1, 1949, in Statesboro, Georgia, Carl led a life marked by a free spirit, dedication to family, and a commitment to serving his country.
Carl's military service was a significant part of his life; he proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his country exemplified his deep sense of duty and honor, qualities that remained with him throughout his life.
After his service, Carl enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with General Motors, where he was respected for his skills and work ethic. Upon retiring, he found joy in the simpler pleasures of life. He loved spending time relaxing under the old pecan tree, riding his bike, and fishing. Carl also had a fondness for the ocean, relishing opportunities to go and witness its vast beauty.
Carl was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved children: Quentin Cooper, and Dayna Clark, who carry on his legacy. Carl also delighted in the company of his six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. His sister, Jean Harris, along with many nieces and nephews, will also cherish his memory.
Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Lee Williams, father, Rufus Lester Love, brother, Robert Cannady, and sister, Mary Evelyn Cannady. Their memories remain alive in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
As we remember Carl, we celebrate a life well-lived and the indelible mark he left on everyone who knew him. His free spirit will be missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him.
Cremation has taken place a memorial service will take place later in Georgia.
