Our loving companion, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his home, with his family at his side. At the age of 81 years. 

The son of the late Robert and Marilyn (Gault) Black, Brian was born on July 16, 1942, in Flint, Michigan. In 1967, Brian met the love of his life and formed a union with Josephine and together raised five daughters. They shared 57 wonderful years together. She survives him. Brian worked as a Machinist at Baker Perkins for 28 years of loyal and dedicated service. He later worked at Thompson Ball and Screw. Brain enjoyed camping, go-cart racing, and eagerly watching Indy and NASCAR races. He was a proud fan of Notre Dame football. Above all, Brian cherished the time with his family and loved ones. 

Surviving besides the love of his life, Josephine Pierce; daughters, Colleen Pierce, April Pierce, Victoria Pierce, JoAnn (Daniel) Fick; grandchildren, Michael Ferrante, II (Bailey Stephens-Ferrante), Stefan Dutcher, Bailey Ferrante, Emilee Zoromski, Cassandra, Mitchel, Adam, Anthony, Austin, Shelby, Seth, Mallory; several great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert Black. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Brian was preceded in death by his daughters, Deanna Pierce-Austin, Sheila Pierce; grandson, James Pierce; and brother, Scott Bennett.  

In accordance with Brian’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Brian’s Life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Big Bend Family Campground, 513 Conrad Rd, Standish, MI 48658.
