Bradley Arthur Bliss Jr.
Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend and teacher passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at his home, with his family at his side. Age 43 years.
The son of Bradley Arthur Bliss and Sherry Jean (Creamer) Cayer, Brad was born on July 15, 1983, in Eustis, Florida. Brad graduated from Pinckney High School with the Class of 2002. During high school, he was actively involved in band, playing trombone in Jazz Band, baritone in Concert Band, and tuba in the Marching Band while also participating on the football team. He continued his education at Carthage Lutheran College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and later attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Orlando, Florida. Brad proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He later earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina. Brad married the love of his life, Deanna Marie Sealey, on February 26, 2026. They shared over eleven wonderful years together. She survives him. Brad dedicated his career to education, teaching at Western Guilford High School in Greensboro, North Carolina; Craven County Schools in New Bern, North Carolina; and Merrill Community School District. Throughout his years in education, he taught a variety of subjects, with a strong focus on STEM classes for students of all ages. He was passionate about helping students find community and connection, serving as advisor for the GSA Club and Dungeons & Dragons Club, and helping establish the Merrill Zoo, to which he and his family contributed various reptiles, rabbits, and rats. Outside of the classroom, Brad enjoyed creating chain mail jewelry and artwork, which he sold at craft fairs and Renaissance festivals throughout Michigan, as well as in Indiana and Ohio. He and his wife shared a love of animals and devoted themselves to rescuing and caring for dogs, cats, and reptiles.
Surviving besides his wife, Deanna Bliss; are his daughters, Alexis Jo Miller, Rachael Lorraine Bliss; parents, Bradley (Waverly Diane) Bliss, Sherry (Rick) Cayer; father and mother-in-law, Jr. and JoElla Sealey; sisters, Andrea “Andie” (Tom) Holbrook, Kylie Cayer; sister-in-law, Amanda (Adam) Hamilton; nephew, Denny (Jenna) Lapczynski and their children, Jupiter, Aurora; and nephew, Banks Murray.
