Bonifacio Villareal (Barney) Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Friday, October 13, 2016, age 65 years. He was born on May 14, 1951, son of Helen (Fernandez) and the late John H. Villareal, in Bryan, TX. He was a graduate of Buena Vista High School and served in the U.S. Airforce. He retired from General Motors after many years of service. He married Wendy Gwizdala on March 11, 2014, she survives him. In his early years Bonifacio enjoyed working within the church at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing BINGO and trips to the casino. He was a loyal Detroit Tigers and Lions Fan. Barney will be remembered for his generosity and kind heart.
Surviving besides his wife Wendy are his children, Jack (De'Lauren) Villareal, Ft. Worth, TX, Matthew Villareal and Dominic Villareal; his step son, Michael Gwizdala; his grandchildren, Joaquin, Cecilia and Baileigh Villareal; his sisters and brothers, MaryAnn (Carlos) Benavides, Nancy (Jose) Perez, Simona (Remedios) Orsonio, Beatrice (Juan) Delaera, Frank (Paula) Villareal, Tony (Shari) Villareal and Rose Corr; his mother-in-law, Susan (Gene) Gwizdala; his father-in-law, Michael (Sheri) Gwizdala; his brother-in-law, Kevin Gwizdala; also many other relatives and friends including his special niece and nephews, Teresa Benevides, Richard and Mario Benavides and his Goddaughter, Yolanda Camacho. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Villareal, his brother, John Villareal Jr. and his brother-in-law, Kris Gwizdala. His family would like to extend their appreciation to Medilodge of Frankenmuth and the Nursing Staff of 4 North at St. Mary's of Michigan.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Anthony of Padua Church, 3680 S. Washington Ave. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friend may visit with the family on Friday at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present for a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also visit on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
