Betty Lou Doster Bay City, MI formerly of Saginaw

Our beloved mother and grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the age of 86 years.

The daughter of the late Samuel and Lydia (Eastman) Paulus, Betty was born on April 21, 1933 in Saginaw. She married Eugene A. Doster on June 18, 1955; he predeceased her on October 20, 1958. Betty retired as a manager from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. She enjoyed traveling by car to visit family and friends. Her numerous driving trips to California, even into her 70s, were legendary. She was an avid card player including pinochle and loved to read "cozy mysteries". She loved spending time with her family. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society and helped support others less fortunate.

Surviving are two daughters: Catherine Ann Doster, Linda Marie (Michael) Stevens, three grandchildren: Jason Saboury, Joel (Brooke) Stevens, Jonathan Saboury and many relatives and dear friends. Besides her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her brother Samuel Paulus, Jr. and her beloved Aunt Harriet Doyle.

The family would like to thank Comfort Care of Bay City for their love and support and for the compassionate care she received at Huron Woods Nursing Center, Kawkawlin.

In accordance with Bettys wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Duane Harris will officiate. Friends may visit the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the chapel. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Alzherimers Association or the American Cancer Society.
