Passed away from natural causes on May 9, 2018 at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw at the age of 87 years. Betty was born to William and Alice (Drew) Barton on December 12, 1930. She married Donald G. Douglas on May 10, 1947. He predeceased her on December 17, 1995. She was also predeceased by 2 sisters, a grandson, Adam Douglas and a great grandson, Mark Schmidt. She is survived by her 8 children; Alice (Jerry) Hall, Bonnie (Jerry) Cutting, Virginia (John) Purviance, John (Carolyn) Douglas, Robin (John) Schmidt, Laurie (Kevin) Hoffman, Donald (Melissa) Douglas Jr., Susan (Jamie) Ware, and daughter-in-law Janet Douglas. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 62 greatgrandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren, many of whom she either babysat for or helped raise. Betty was a member of the Saginaw Women of the Moose as an officer and volunteer for many years. She especially enjoyed playing Euchre there and at the Senior Center. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at W. L. Case and Company, Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Pastor Amy Terhune will officiate with burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel on Tuesday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the funeral service.
