Betty L. Brechtelsbauer

Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the age of 98 years.

The son of the late Carl F. Sievert and Bessie (Lindow) Sievert. Was born July 1, 1928, in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School. Betty married James Chester Brechtelsbauer January 31, 1948, her husband of 72 years James predeceased her April 30, 2020. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. One of her loves was crafting and painting and helping her husband with his woodworking. Dancing was one of her greatest pleasures. Betty and her husband belonged to a square dance club, a round dance club and the Delta College Clogging group.

Surviving are two sons, and one daughter and their spouses, Thomas and Linda Brechtelsbauer; Scott and Maree Brechtelsbauer; Lori Grai; three grandchildren; Melissa and Nick Salchert; Jon Brechtelsbauer; Erin Cook; six great-grandchildren, Riley Curran, Alexis Curran, Logan Curran, Landon Cook, Rhett Brechtelsbauer, and Hendrix Brechtelsbauer. A grandson, Jason Brechtelsbauer, her son-in-law Robert Deatherage, her brother C. Robert Sievert has predeceased her.

Cremation has taken place. A private committal service will take place later in Arlington National Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Peace Lutheran Church.
