Bessie "Pennie" Hill (Smith) Saginaw, Michigan Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 13, 2018, age 88 years. She was born on August 17, 1929, daughter of the late Otis and Pearl (Dockham) Smith, in Pontiac, Michigan. Pennie married Albert Dale Hill Sr. on December 17, 1949. He predeceased her on July 16, 2003. She retired from General Motors after many years of service. Pennie also enjoyed being a hairstylist. She enjoyed quilting, ceramics and spending time in the outdoors with her family fishing, camping and hunting. Pennie will be missed by her children, Albert D. Hill Jr, John L. Hill Sr., Donald J. (Pamela) Hill Sr. and Patti J (the late James) Hall; her grandchildren, Teresa (Arthur) Podgurski, Donald J. (Katrina) Hill II, Tammie (Ronald) Hartman, John L. Hill II, Amy Hill, Crystel Hill and Michael (Meghan) Hill; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, her dogs, Peaches and Raven and her cat, Mona. She was predeceased by seven sisters and five brothers. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Don Dinninger will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider the wishes of the family.
