Benkert, Bergetta V. Saginaw, MI Went home to the Lord on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at the age of 102. Bergetta was born July 22, 1912, in James Township, MI to the late William and Catherine (Reiger) Langley. She married Henry Benkert Sr. in November of 1932; he predeceased her in 1996. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she worked on the funeral luncheons for 18 years. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, flowers, and gardening. She is survived by her children, Donald Benkert, Jean Ann (Ronald) Lickly, Joseph (Christine) Benkert, Susan (Ernest) Allen; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Zazo; and her daughter-in-law, Mary Benkert. She was predeceased by her children, Henry Benkert Jr. and Theresa Kuch; daughter-in-law, Claudia Benkert; granddaughter, Shirley Kuch; and siblings, Melvin Langley, Clayton Langley, William Langley, Irene Belko, and Marion Adams. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church 4735 W. Michigan. Burial will take place in St. Andrews Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at W.L. Case & Company 201 N. Miller Road on Monday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also visit at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
