Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the age of 88 years. The son the late Arthur F. and Clare E. (Hansen) Sawyer was born on October 7, 1929 in Escanaba, MI. Arthur served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Mary E. Fass on November 24, 1954. She predeceased him on September 15, 1980. He was blessed with another loving wife when he married Jennie M. Crevier on April 24, 1982; she survives him. Arthur retired from National Cash Register Company in 1992. He was an active member of the Saginaw First Church of the Nazarene. Arthur enjoyed photography, camping, and was the family "Mr. Fix It" always tinkering either on a home or church project. Surviving besides his wife, Jennie, are his children and their families: Thomas (Michelle), Kenneth (Pam), Joe Ochsenkehl, Judy (Ray) Lappeus. Eight Grandchildren, Joshua (Lessie) Sawyer, Andrea Sawyer, Jacob Sawyer, Brent (Kate) Sawyer, Brian Sawyer, Eric Ochsenkehl, Ben (Jackie) Ochsenkehl, Veronica (Rob) Kitzman. Eight Great Grandchilden: Gabriela, Jonathan, and Isaac Sawyer, Caiden Sawyer, Lucas and Isabelle Ochsenkehl, Gabe and Connor Kitzman. Nieces, Rebecca and Deborah Sawyer and Carrie Sophia and family. Many more nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James Sawyer, sister in laws, Violet Sawyer and Katherine Newton and Brother in laws, Ken Newton and Gottfried Fass. Funeral service will take at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Saginaw First Church of the Nazarene, 3000 Davenport. Rev. Chester Webster will officiate with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
