Our loving dad, grandfather, and friend passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at the age of 80 years.
Born in Saginaw, Michigan, he was the son of Frances Roberts (Cottrell) and Arnold Younk Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserve. He married Gloria Trier, who preceded him in death.
Throughout his career, he dedicated himself to serving others as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and paramedic with MMR and later worked in management, where he established the company's Honor Guard, reflecting his respect for service, tradition, and those who dedicated their lives to helping others.
Arnold was also a member of the Masonic fraternity. An avid nature photographer, he had a special appreciation for Michigan's natural beauty. He enjoyed traveling throughout the state, photographing its historic lighthouses and capturing the beauty of the outdoors through his camera lens. His other interests included fishing, boating, and camping.
He is survived by his daughters, Paula Leaym and Wendi Younk; his grandchildren, Ash Leaym (Ilea) and Haley Leaym (Lucas Taffo); his great-granddaughter Luke Leaym; and his sister Kathy VanBuskirk (Annie White), many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Younk, David Younk, and Darrell Young.
He leaves behind memories of a life marked by service and a love of nature.
The family would like to thank the staff and caretakers at Union Court Assisted living, especially Roseanna and Dakota for the loving care they gave Arnold.
Memorial visitation will be held from 1:00p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd with a committal service and military honors to follow at Swan Creek Township Cemetery. Please share your words of condolence with the family at www.casefuneralhome.com
