Arlene Joyce Vance Merrill, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Brookdale Assisted Living. Age 82 years. The daughter of the late Lenora (Battley) and Theodore Foster was born August 31, 1934 in Wheeler, Michigan. She married Richard E. Vance, September 6, 1952. He passed away November 28, 2009. Arlene had been employed as a secretary to Randall Wickes at the Wickes Corporation and left to become a full-time homemaker. She had been a member of Breckenridge United Methodist Church and the Lake Panasoffkee Florida United Methodist Church. She had been a 4H leader, enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, bowling, gardening and sewing. Surviving are three sons, one daughter and their spouses, Kim and Charlyn Vance, Steamboat Springs, CO; Kurt and Carole Vance, Traverse City, MI; Sandra and Tim Morrison, Merrill, MI; Kevin and Nancy Vance, Cairo, GA; nine grandchildren, Aaron Vance; Nicole Schoenbrunn; Gemma Gilland; Bryan, Nathan and Megan Morrison; Garrett, McKenna and Harrison Vance; five great grandchildren, Bode, Kyla, Audra, Anya and Hunter; two brothers, one sister and their spouses, Duane and Phyllis Foster; Theodore Foster Jr. and his wife, Ginny; Susan Foster; several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Sherman (John) Foster and Floyd Foster have predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2016, at the Merrill Wesleyan Church, 3765 N. Chapin Rd. Merrill. Rev. Tim Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery Breckenridge. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday and then on Monday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
