Carney, Arlene R.

Birch Run, Michigan

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away on December 25, 2022 at the age of 95.   Arlene was born on January 19, 1927 in Gladwin, MI to the late Vernon and Alice Dennings.  She married her high school sweetheart, Charles R. Carney who preceded her in death on December 28, 2003, after fifty-nine years of marriage.

Arlene was a devoted mother to her three daughters.  She was active in their numerous school and extracurricular activities which included teaching Sunday school for many years.  Her family meant everything to her.  After her daughters were grown she furthered her educational goal, attending Delta College and subsequently going to work as a Dental Assistant.  Arlene continued to remain active her entire life with many interests.

Left to cherish her memory are: Daughters - Sandra Pincombe, Rockford, MI,  Dianne (John) Dorcey, Birch Run, MI, Shelly (Arthur) Pullen, Saginaw, MI; eight grandchildren – Todd (Miake) Pincombe, Chris (Donna) Pincombe, Kimberly (Scott) Cole, Brett (Sarah) Pincombe, Laure Thebolt (Brian), David Thebolt, Kara (Phil) Hampton, Brian Pullen; nine great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.  Arlene was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Richard Pincombe and Thomas Thebolt; two sisters and four brothers.

Due to the growing trifecta of respiratory illnesses (COVID, RSV and Influenza) a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held with committal to Roselawn Cemetery.  Those planning an expression of sympathy, may wish to consider memorials to Ss. Francis and Clare Catholic Parish, 12157 Church Street, Birch Run, MI 48415 or Great Lakes Bay Animal Society, P.O. Box 2891, Midland, MI 48640.  www.casefuneralhome.com
