Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Age 91 years.
Anthony was born on May 28, 1934, son of the late Felix and Nina (Caldwell) Lagalo, in Saginaw and raised in Crow Island, Michigan. He married Joan Hickey, his loving wife of 71 years. She survives him. Anthony retired from Saginaw Steering Gear after 30 years of dedicated service and was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Helen Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Joan Lagalo, daughter, Judith (Mark) King; son, Thomas Lagalo (Elizabeth Schaus) of Weeki-Wachee, FL; grandchildren, Rebecca King Burgess (Randy Shelton) of Corunna, Rachel (Jamie) Voss of Bay City, Christopher (Brenda) Lagalo of El-Cajon, CA and Melanie (Justin)Thume of Beaverton; great grandchildren, Aaliyah Burgess, Tayler Lagalo, Isabell Voss, Elizabeth Whitfield, Mercedes Montijo, Emily Voss, Gavin Lagalo, Ava Montijo, Tyler Thume and Oliver Thume; brother, Gerald (Tina) Lagalo of St. Charles; sisters-in-law, Sharon Lagalo and Connie Allore. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Amy Montijo, sisters, Nina Maliszewski, Joann Vogt and Shirley Kolhagen, brothers, Felix “Roger” Lagalo, Ronald Lagalo, David Allore and Frank Allore.
The Lagalo family would like to extend their appreciation to Residential Hospice, friends and neighbors for their care and support.
Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Helen Catholic Church.
