COTA, ANDY LOVELLS, MICHIGAN Former Columbus, Ohio resident passed away yesterday after a lingering illness. Age 65 years. He was born September 14, 1928 in Big Rapids, Michigan and was a graduate of Big Rapids High School. He attended Ferris State University and was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Journalism in 1956. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Nancy B. Case on August 25, 1956; she survives him. They had lived in Toledo, Ohio where he was employed as a reporter for the Toledo Blade, later moving to Columbus where he served as legislative reporter for the paper. He later became Editor of the Gongwer News Service in Columbus, retiring in 1991. He was an avid gardener and cat fancier. He is survived by his wife Nancy and daughter Jennifer Cota, at home; his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Sara Cota, Manassas, Virginia; 2 granddaughters, Angela and Elizabeth Cota, both of Manassas; his mother Vera Cota, Big Rapids, Michigan; his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Karol Cota and niece Rachael, all of Killingsworth, Connecticut. He also leaves his father-in-law, Fred Case, Sr., Saginaw. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., from 6-9 p.m. on Friday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the library of their choice or cancer society of their choice.
