Amil Ray Handeguand

Marco Island, Florida

April 22, 1947-October 10, 2022

       Loyal and loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at his home in Marco Island, Florida on Monday October 10, 2022 at the age of 75.

Amil leaves behind his wife Alice, sister Janet (Al) Schreiner, children, Jeffrey (Chantelle) Handeguand, Sarah Hoffman, Chris (Jolene) Meadows, 3 grandchildren,  Andrew Hoffman, Eric Jason Jr. and Rylee Handeguand. Nieces and nephews Jessica, Ashleigh, Tom and their childrenand countless friends. Predeceased by his parents, Amil and Delores Handeguand, son Eric Jason Handeguand Sr. 

        Amil was born and raised in Saginaw, MI. Graduated from McArthur high school, attended Delta college, joined the Army reserves, worked as an iron worker and followed in his fathers footsteps as a private business owner. Above all, his family was his greatest love.  Amil also loved the outdoors, nature, hunting, fishing, traveling, gardening, biking. One of his most generous qualities was the time he spent sharing unforgettable memories and welcoming and entertaining his family and friends at his cottage in the Upper Penninsula.

     A gathering of friends and family will be held on Monday October 24, 2022 at Memorial Park 230 S. Main st. Freeland, MI 48623 from 5-8 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Garden Historical Society.
