Alicia "Alice" Guevara of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. She was 89 years old. Alicia Guevara was born on September 2, 1932, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Bartolo P. and Francisca (Mendoza) Guevara. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School. Following graduation, she attended Delta College and later Saginaw Valley College where she received her bachelor's degree in elementary education. Alicia was employed as an elementary school teacher with the Saginaw Public Schools District for over 18 years of loyal and dedicated service. While teaching, Alice earned her master's degree in elementary education from Saginaw Valley State University. She was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she actively participated in the Women's Club. Alice was also a member of the League of Catholic Women. She had a servant's heart and volunteered her time with Covenant HealthCare - Harrison, Community Village on Hospital Road, and the Bethseda Thrift Shop. Alice enjoyed watching her novelas (Mexican soap operas) every day on television. She had a kind, caring, and selfless spirit and made sure to always visit family and friends in nursing homes. Over the years, Alice became a fan of women's basketball; always cheering for her favorite teams, the University of Michigan and Central Michigan University. Above all, Alice loved and cherished her family and was always ever present at every family gathering. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor and her ability to befriend and communicate with all people.
