Alice Marie Davis

Hemlock, Michigan

Beloved mother and grandmother went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at her home, with her family at her side. Age 72 years.

The daughter of the late Russell and Cora (Koeplinger) Pretzer, Alice was born on February 25, 1954, in Saginaw, Michigan. Alice was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church and attended St. Peter Lutheran School. She later graduated from Hemlock High School, carrying with her the values of faith, education, and community throughout her life. Alice married the love of her life, Enoch T. Davis Jr, on November 30, 1991. They shared many wonderful years together. He preceded her in death May 7, 2025. Alice was a devoted member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hemlock. Beginning in the 1980s, Alice volunteered with the school lunch program at St. Peter Lutheran School and continued serving through the years while her children and later her grandchildren attended the school. She was also a dedicated volunteer with God's Helping Hands of Hemlock & Merrill and a member of the Mary Martha Society. Her strong faith, generous spirit, and commitment to serving others were evident in all aspects of her life. Above all, Alice was devoted to her family and was always there to care for those she loved. She took great pride in coaching her daughters' softball teams, where she not only encouraged young athletes but also built many lifelong friendships. Alice and her husband, Enoch, enjoyed a life filled with shared projects and adventures. They were always working together on home improvements and other endeavors to make their home and lives uniquely their own. Among their favorite activities was fishing on Saginaw Bay, where they spent countless hours together making memories and enjoying each other's company.

Surviving are her children, Tammy (Shawn) Watson, Enoch (Teer) Davis III, Matt Davis, Jodi Valentin, Angela (Fred) Wedding II, Julia (Scott) Bierlein; grandchildren, Brittany, Ben, Brooke, Dakota, Enoch IV, Chloe, Brody, Jonathan, Alex, Andrew, Freddy, Addison, Ashlynn, Nathan; great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Beverly Pretzer, Diane (Joe) McMahon, Harvey Pretzer. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides her husband and her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her former husband, Duane Lowell Schultz.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd, Hemlock, MI 48626. Rev. Michael Speckhard will officiate with burial to follow at Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may wish to visit the family from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hemlock or wishes of the family.
