Alice Caroline Jahner

Alice C. Jahner of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was 81 years old. Alice C. Jahner was born on June 19, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Eric Kurt and Grace Emma (Dub) Jahner. She was a proud graduate of both St. Charles High School and Delta College where she received an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. Alice was employed as a cashier with Meijer on Gratiot Road, retiring after over 20 years of loyal and dedicated service. After completing her degree, she created her own successful and affordable tax preparation business, assisting fellow co-workers and friends with their taxes. In her spare time, Alice enjoyed bike riding and actively participated in many bicycle marathons over the years. She was creative and excelled with all types of crafts, especially quilting, stained glass ornaments and lamps, as well as upholstering. Alice also took the time to beautifully design, craft, and hand-make birthday cards for those she loved, family, and friends. She also enjoyed golfing and was a fantastic cook. Alice knew that “love” was the magic ingredient needed for every meal to taste incredible. Above all, she loved and cherished her family. She left her indelible mark on this world through her optimism, her ability to always stay positive and happy, and for truly living an amazing life filled with creativity, love, and kindness.

Surviving are two daughters and a son: Ginger (Steve) Evans of Lincoln Park; Rich (Ginger) Rorrer of Saginaw Township; Cynthia (Rod) McRitchie of Belleville; five grandchildren: Ryan Fairchild of Taylor; John Fairchild and his fiancée, Sashe Reyelts of Hudson, FL; Olivia McRitchie of Ypsilanti; Elizabeth (Tyler) Rychel of Saginaw Township; Hanna Rorrer and her fiancé, Ethan Favara of Clio; three great-grandchildren: Madison and Savannah Fairchild and Emma Rychel; best friend and companion, Rich Langhals of St. Charles; two sisters and one brother: Walt (Michelle) Jahner of St. Petersburg, FL; Nancy Morris of Chelsea; Mildred (Don) Legg of New Haven, IN. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Eric and Grace Jahner; siblings: Ruth Atkins, Ray Jahner, Hank Jahner, Betty Johnson, and Martha Shipman.
