Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Carriage House Rehab; at the age of 83 years.

The son of the late Georg and Marie (Mueller) Hofmann, Adolf was born on January 16, 1937 in Furth, Germany. He came to the United States with his parents in 1954; then became a United States Citizen in 1988. He married Donna Hofmann on May 10, 1958 at Bridgeport Community Church, Bridgeport, Michigan. Donna preceded him in death on April 20, 2013. Adolf worked 15 years at Gase Bakery; then he worked for many years at General Motors Plant Two until he retired. He was a long-time member of Bridgeport Community Church and the Saginaw Valley Trailer Club. Adolf enjoyed camping, traveling and fishing.

Surviving are two daughters, one son and their spouses: Gary and Martha Hofmann; Jane and Todd Holzhei; Donna and John Fisher; seven grandchildren: Lisa Hofmann; Danielle (Jordan) Shorter; Nicole (Jordan) Castle; Ashley (Scott) Kittle; Nathan (Alexis) Holzhei; Johnny Fisher; Ashlee Fisher (fiancé: Jon Pechtel); twelve great-grandchildren: Kyle and Lucianna Hofmann; Madelyn Kaiser; Landon Castle; Zarina, Zeke, Zeffie and Zender Kittle; Seth Fisher; Rain and Ariahna Howell; Greysin Pechtel; a great-granddaughter on the way: Journey; a special niece: Sandy (Ron) Fick. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Adolf was preceded in death by a very dear friend: Lorraine Curtis.

A funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway, Saginaw. Rev. Ronald L. Sinclair will officiate with burial to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral chapel. Pursuant to the current state executive order, indoor building capacity is limited, face covers are required, and social distancing is encouraged. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to reduce the spread of covid-19 in our community. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to National Nutropenia Network.
