Abel Osuna Sr. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle went home to the Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at the age of 85 years. Abel was born February 8, 1932, in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico to the late Julio and Guadalupe (Esquivel) Osuna. Abel married Asuncion "Mary" Luna on September 17, 1954; she predeceased him on December 1, 2015. He retired from Grey Iron on February 28, 1982, after 30 years of service. He went on to work as a seasonal employee for Monitor Sugar for 25 years. He became a United States citizen on January 22, 2000. He attended Harvest Assembly of God. Abel loved Jesus and his greatest desire was for his family to be followers of Jesus Christ. He was an avid walker for 30 years. He enjoyed watching his great-grandchildren play sports. I have fought the good fight I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 He is survived by his children, Maria del Rosario "Rosie" (Oscar) Garcia, Martha Lozoya, Oralia (Juan) Garza, Homer (Lucy) Osuna; daughters-in-law, Esther Osuna and Josie Osuna; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; siblings, Frances (Javier) Aguilar, Janie Juarez, Maria Elena Botello, Ophelia (Bill) Daubert, and Gloria Estrada. He was predeceased by his sons, Abel Osuna Jr. and Oscar Osuna; and his siblings, Homer, Jesse, and Reyes Osuna. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017, at Harvest Assembly of God 625 S. 17th St. Rev. Jerry Flores will officiate with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
