A. Jane (Thom) Berger Hemlock, Michigan Peacefully passed into God's embrace in paradise, Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Covenant-Cooper. Age 94 years. The daughter of the late Alison (Smith) and Oscar Beythan was born July 3, 1920 in Hemlock, Michigan. She married Luther Thom, August 31, 1941. He passed away in 1969. She later married Nelson Berger, January 11, 1975. He passed away in June 18, 2004. She was a lifelong member of Hemlock United Methodist Church. Jane graduated from Hemlock High School and attended Westside Beauty School. She was an accomplished seamstress and employed by a bridal shop. She touched many lives as a 4-H Leader; volunteered for many years at the Saginaw County Fair; enjoyed gardening. Surviving are three daughters, one son and their spouses, June and Brigg Stone; Ed and Jane Thom; Kathie and Clare Wirsing; Connie and Garry Jines; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Troy and Lisa Stone; Tracy and Dr. Gary Lobel; Alison and Blake Pratt; Zachary and Leslie Thom; Hannah and Jared Cramton; Wendie and David Ferguson; Laurie and Jamey Heim; Hollie and Michael Fishtorn; Jacob Jines; sixteen great grandchildren; a sister, Alice June Bottrell; several nieces and nephews. A sister, Helen Reed, has predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at Noon Friday, August 22, 2014, at Hemlock United Methodist Church, 406 W. Saginaw St. Hemlock. Rev. Michael W. Vollmer will officiate with burial at 2:30 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Church from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of the funeral service.
