Yvonne Marie Mey

Yvonne Marie Mey of Saginaw, Michigan, formerly of Cape Coral, FL Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Samaritas Senior Living of Saginaw. She was 82 years old. Yvonne Marie Ofstedal was born on November 10, 1936 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Bernard and Agnes Ann (Shaft) Ofstedal. She was a proud 1955 graduate of St. Charles High School. Following graduation, Yvonne married Robert Dale Mey on May 2, 1957; he preceded her in death on December 16, 1992. She was a homemaker most of her life, but truly enjoyed decorating, cooking and traveling. Above all, Yvonne loved and cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving are three sons and a daughter: Randall (Cyntha) Mey of Saginaw, MI; Renee (Gaspar) Cuadrao of Cape Coral, FL; Rick Mey of Cape Coral, FL; and Ronald Mey of Cape Coral, FL; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Samuel Graham of TX; and a sister-in-law, Gerri Ofstedal of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. A Funeral Service will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Florida, 33991. Rev. Ted Althouse will officiate with entombment to take place at a later date. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathies may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimers Association, Greater Michigan Chapter, 3600 N.
