William Starke

William Starke Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Wednesday February 1, 2017 at Saginaw Senior Care and Rehab. At the age of 96 years. William was born July 14, 1920 in Bay City. The son of the late Carl and Mary (Eichinger) Starke. He married Lorna Ulrich June 23, 1962 and she survives him. William served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church. He retired from Dow Corning Corp. in 1985. Surviving besides his wife Lorna are two children and their spouses, Bill and Patty Starke; Cathleen and Douglas Gleason; three grandchildren, Rachel Starke, Joseph Starke and Peter Starke; two sisters, Ida Starke and Irma Starke; several nieces and nephews. Two brothers and one sister, Eugene Starke, Kurt Starke and Hulda Burger have predeceased him. Funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 1020 Court St. at Bond, Saginaw. Rev. Carl Otto will officiate with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Paul Ev.
