Vivian Elaine Sims Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Age 84 years. The daughter of the late Adeline (Fox) and Alonzo Short was born June 30, 1928 in Hemlock, Michigan. She married Alfred Norton Sims, Jr., February 11, 1963. He passed away May 7, 1975. She was a member of Hemlock Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Surviving are two daughters, two sons and their spouses, Gerrilyne Paige; John and Tina Sims; Jodi and Stan Woodring; Richard and Peggy Sims; four grandchildren, Christopher J. Woodring; Dan and Kyle Sims; Cristina Sims; her special niece, Roberta Watson and her children, Ashley, Abby, Alex, and Alexis with whom she very much enjoyed; two sisters-in-law, Cora Short; Virginia Short; many nieces and nephews and her special friend, Lynn Turner. She was predeceased by five sisters, three brothers, Dorothy Saumier, Elmer Short, Mildred Clark, Marie Clark, Gladys Hooks, Laura Watson, Walter Short, and Alonzo Short Jr. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2013, at Hemlock United Methodist Church. Rev. Jerry Paul Densmore will officiate with burial in Hiland Cemetery, Gladwin. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday and then at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of the funeral service.
