Virginia L. Geese

Geese, Virginia L. Saginaw, Michigan Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the age of 93 years. Virginia Lee Phillips was born in Detroit on May 24, 1925. She graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1943. Virginia married Theodore J. "Ted" Geese on December 18, 1943; he predeceased her on April 30, 1989. She retired from St. Lukes Hospital after 29 years of service. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church on Second and Federal Sts. Where she volunteered in various capacities and also served on the funeral luncheon committee. She volunteered at the Temple Theatre. In her early days, she enjoyed speed skating and also bowled for many years. Surviving are her children: Tim (Cheryl) Geese, Larry Geese, Terry Geese, Denise (Wayne) Kumaus, Gary (Cheryl) Geese, eleven grandchildren, Michael (Tonya), Matthew, Tim (Carrie), Crystal, Elizabeth (Eric), Brian (Terri), Jennifer (Brandon), Amanda (Willie), Heather, Ashley and Andrew; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Albert and Ruby Geese; one niece, Joann Smith; six nephews, Jerry Larson,. Nels and Delores Larson, Jon and Mary Fischer, Ken and Mary Fischer, Jim and Jen Nichols and Nels and Linda Nichols; a life-long friend, Clara Hancock; and many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her grandson, Larry John Geese Jr., 4 sisters: Agnes Larson, Clara Becker, Gertrude Fischer, Nelsine Nichols, and a nephew, Bill Fischer and a niece, Geree Boshaw. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Carl Ballard will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and then on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
