Sawyer, Violet M. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the age of 80 years. The daughter of the late Conrad and Mary (Schimpf) Fass was born on April 12, 1936 in Saginaw. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School- the class of 1954. Violet married James M. Sawyer on November 25, 1961; he predeceased her on January 14, 2013. She retired from JCPenny's after 30 years of service. Violet enjoyed the outdoors: camping, gardening, bird watching, feeding the squirrels and her dachshund dogs. Surviving are her two daughters: Rebecca and Deborah Sawyer, a brother-in-law: Arthur Robert (Jennie) Sawyer and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a brother Godfried Fass and two sisters: Mary Esther Sawyer and Katherine (Ken) Newton. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene, 1815 Tittabawassee Rd. Rev. Ron Compton will officiate with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
