Velma Hutfilz Hemlock, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. Age 86 years. Velma was born February 26, 1927 in Merrill, Michigan, the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Wenzel) Tester. She married Elmer Hutfilz, June 5, 1954. He survives her. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a former member of the TOPS #664. Surviving besides her husband, Elmer, are two children, Suzanne (Giovanni) Catenacci; David (Candy Baccary) Hutfilz; seven grandchildren, Rebecca (Scott) Mohler; Thomas Neuenfeldt; Joel Hutfilz; Cheryl (Ryan) Warner; Kayla Rohde; Sarah Neuenfeldt; Daniel Neuenfeldt; three great grandchildren, Trent, Desmond, Rueben; a sister, Marion McRoberts; a step brother-in-law, Gerald Ford; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Gloria Hutfilz; two brothers, Wayne and Lyle Tester; a sister-in-law, Hilda Zastrow; two brothers-in-law, Wilbert and Melvin Hutfilz. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church, 17927 Dice Rd. Hemlock. Rev. Paul Hauser will officiate with burial in Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill from 2:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and then at the Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
