Thomas E. Williams III Saginaw, MI Went home to the Lord, joining his beloved wife Edna, on Monday, September 9, 2013, at the age of 69. Thomas was born March 3, 1944, in Buffalo, NY to the late Saverla and Thomas Williams II. Thomas had a full and blessed life traveling the country with his wife. They lived for many years in Anchorage, AK, where they began a family before becoming permanent residents of Saginaw in 1979. Thomas was well respected in the community and "never met a stranger." He had a wonderful sense of humor and a love for life which served him well throughout his career with Saginaw County performing community outreach, for over 20 years. He was a very courageous and optimistic man, a symbol of strength and perseverance, always seeing the silver lining no matter how dark the storm. He never saw the troubles before him but rather the blessings that were sure to follow. Thomas was a loving and hardworking family man who had come to know and love the Lord. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed laughing and dancing with his wife of 44 years. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Saverla Williams, Andrea Williams (Patrick McInerney), Satyra Griffin, Tamiko Beckham; grandchildren Joseph, Jazmine, Alira, Daijah, Nkosi, Kiara, Dominique, and Levelzo; 2 great grand children, and many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Edna on July 7, 2008 as well as his 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 14, 2013, at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Pastor Faye Carter will officiate the service with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
