Susan Marie (McMillan) Ontiveros

Susan Marie (McMillan) Ontiveros Saginaw, Michigan Returned to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on May 21, 2017, at the age of 68 years. Susan was born May 8, 1949, in Saginaw to the late Cyril Thomas and Helen Louise (Coughlin) McMillan. She attended Hemlock Schools. In 1968, she married Bill Monk and together they had three children, Colleen, Chris and Kelly. She was a devoted, caring mother and made sure each of her children felt loved, special, and safe. She worked tirelessly to provide them a very happy childhood and always put herself last. She always said her children were her biggest gift in life and she could want for nothing more. Susan retired from the unemployment office after 29 years of service. In 1997, she married Art Ontiveros and became a loving stepmother to his three children. She and Art enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with their family. Sue also enjoyed shopping at garage sales and was a very creative soul. Along with Art, she was an active church member and had a strong faith in God. When her mother required 24 hour care, Susan filled that familiar caregiver role until Helen passed in 2016. It's impossible to summarize in a short article, all the grace that was Susan, but she will be remembered for her: selflessness, beauty, strength, compassion, and sense of humor. Many happy memories of laughter and love will be shared among those who knew her, and in those memories, she will live on. Her life has enriched all those who knew her. She will be fervently missed by her husband Art; her children, Colleen (Mike) Strader, Chris Monk, Kelly (Luke White) Monk, Veronica Onitveros, Alisa (Chris) Schmoak, and Andrew Ontiveros; grandchildren, Miranda, Dakota, Zoila, Josh, Michael, Brendan, Cy, Cheyenne, Memphis, and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Nicolas; brother-in-law, John Murphy; her special nieces, nephews, and many close family and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Rosemary and Muriel; and her mother-in-law, Beatrice. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at SS Francis and Clare Parish Sacred Heart Church, 12157 Church St. Birch Run, Michigan 48415. Fr. Thomas J.
