Susan Margaret Skuczas

Skuczas, Susan Margaret Merrill, Michigan Beloved wife, mother, aunt and friend, went home to her Lord on Friday, July 27, 2018, after fighting a lengthy illness. Susan was born on August 23, 1946, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Arthur and Sadie (Allen) Rick. She graduated from Hemlock High School in 1965 and went on to earn a certificate in Medical Records Keeping. On October 10, 1970, she married the love of her life and best friend, Richard "Butch" Skuczas. Susan was active in her church, St. John Lutheran Church, Hemlock, and volunteered at the Pregnancy Counseling Center in Saginaw until her health would not let her do it anymore. She was always known to be a true, loyal friend. Even through her illness, she was always willing to help and put others needs ahead of her own. She was a truly selfless and caring woman who will be missed by those who knew her. She was predeceased by her parents, and by her twin brother, Arthur Rick, whom she adored and loved. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard "Butch", sons, David (Deborah) and Robert; grandsons, Jacob, Ryan and Ethan; sister-in-law and dearest friend, Bonnie Rick; and many nieces and nephews that she was very fond and proud of. Susans family extends special thanks to all those at the Cartwright Hospice Residence for their kindness and care. Funeral service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 125 E. Saginaw Road, Merrill. Rev. Phil Bigelow will officiate. Cremation will take place following the service. Her family will receive friends at the funeral chapel, Merrill, from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.
