Sue Ann Lee

Our deeply cherished Sue Ann Lee passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the age of 80 years old. Sue spent her last days surrounded by her loved ones.

Sue was born December 19, 1940 in Saginaw. One of five children of late Helen (Gunther) and Herbert Nelson. She married Frederick Lee, Jr. He predeceased her on June 23, 1990. Sue was a member of Calvary Church till it’s closing and had become a member of New Heart Methodist Church. She retired from St. Luke’s Hospital after 19 years of service. Those who knew Sue knew her as a compassionate and caring person. Sue was a positive force in life for everyone around her. Always reminding you of how much she valued time spent together and how happy it made her. If you knew Sue, you know she loved planting flowers, especially her sunflowers. She always grew the most beautiful yellow sunflowers right outside her yellow house every summer. They almost always grew as tall as the house!

The one thing Sue loved more than anything in this world was her family. Sue never forgot to call, send cards for every birthday, graduation, and everything in between. She treasured warm summer days spent at Sanford Beach with the family all together. She enjoyed holidays, birthday parties, going to the zoo to feed the ducks with her daughters and grandchildren. Walks to the park will be some of the memories the family will hold dearest. Sue was always so selfless and sweet in everything she did.

Sue’s memory will be held by five daughters, Deborah (Bruce) Hoverter, Kathy Lee, Jackie Tourangeau (Todd Penny), Laurie (Al) Johnson, Terry Jacobs and Craig Tourangeau, who she loved as a son; grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Mitchell , Bridget Villareal, Ryan Lee, Jacob (Gabrielle) Kingsbury, Billy Jacobs, Craigie Tourangeau, John Kingsbury, Brandon Jacobs and Corey Doerr; great grandchildren, Christopher (Odessa) Miller, Dylan Mitchell, Dominic Villareal, Xavier Villareal, Vincent Villareal, Sophia Jacobs, Lauryn Lee, Briella Lee, Mia Lee and Raymond Doerr; her siblings, Barry (Carol) Nelson, Bruce (Iris) Nelson, Herbert Nelson, and Sally (Jim) VanWagoner; several nieces, nephews and special friends.

Honoring Sue’s wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Sue loved children and animals, and the family asks in lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the ASPCA - American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital.
