Sally Marie Knight (DeRosia)
Sally Marie Knight passed away May 8, 2022, at the age of 93 at Symphony Tri Cities in Bay City after a lingering illness. She was born January 9, 1929, to Raymond and Marion DeRosia in Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Saginaw High School, graduating in 1947. She was a member of the National Honor Society and attended Saginaw Business Institute.
She married Robert E. Knight October 8, 1949, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1999 with family and friends at their daughter’s home. Robert predeceased Sally in 2005.
Sally was also predeceased by her sister, Doris Fowler, of Ontario, California, and her brother James DeRosia, of Saginaw, Michigan, and her two sisters-in-law, Carol Knight Humphrey, and Joyce Knight Schwannecke. She leaves behind three children and their spouses: Sheryl and Robert Kendrick of Indian River, Michigan; Mark and Jill Knight of Saginaw, Michigan; Randy and Sheryl Knight of Sebastopol, California. She is survived by four grandchildren: Jennifer Nicole Stack of Saginaw, Brian Mark Knight of Saginaw, Laura Elizabeth Seehaver (Jason) of Denver, Colorado, and Clayton Russell Kendrick (Lindsay) of Saline, Michigan. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Drew Stack and Sage Stack of Saginaw, Addison Kendrick and Olivia Kendrick of Saline, Michigan, and Stella Seehaver of Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley DeRosia of Saginaw and many nieces and nephews.
Sally was employed by Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company for 15 years as an executive assistant and then office manager/bookkeeper in both Saginaw and San Francisco, California. She retired in 1996. She enjoyed spending time with her group of lady friends that formed a card club that lasted over 50 years.
Sally and Bob loved California and moved there twice, once in their late 20’s with two kids in tow, returning two years later with three children. And, again about 20 years later, where they settled in for about 10 years, always returning though to their hometown of Saginaw. They received great enjoyment traveling in their motor home.
Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will be held at a later date.
