Ruth Schmittou

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 04, 2019. Age 88 years. Ruth was born on March 3, 1931, daughter of the late Wade and Ida May (Green) Waynick, in Dickson County, TN. She married Paul Schmittou on August 23, 1948. He predeceased her on July 2, 2013. Ruth was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and retired from St. Marys of Michigan as a Switchboard Operator after 30 years of service. She loved cooking and caring for her children. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ruth will be missed by her son, Wayne Schmittou; her daughter, Judy Sayles (Bob) Holtzapple; her granddaughter, Jamie (Sonny) Earls; two great grandsons, Colin and Brandon; her sister, Oralee Klump of Rockford, IL; her sister-in-law, Helen Smith and her close niece, Glenda Thompson. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Maybell, Dorrice, Lawson, Melvin, Wade, Bill and Vernon. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at W. L. Case and Company, 5700 Dixie Highway. Rev. William W. Hessler will officiate with burial in Pinegrove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
