Ruth Mary Rohn

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away peacefully on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. She was 79 years old. Ruth Mary Neuenfeldt was born on May 25, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late, Wilbert Emil Carl and Mary Louise (Darby) Neuenfeldt. She was a proud graduate of Hemlock High School. Following graduation, she married Elvin William Rohn on September 7, 1957 in Hemlock; he preceded her in death on March 29, 2001. Ruth was a lifelong and faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hemlock where she received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Marriage. She also actively volunteered in the church choir, various committees, as well as the Altar Guild. Ruth enjoyed camping, baking and crocheting. She loved to play cards and listening to country western music, especially Dick Schultz. Above all, her greatest accomplishments were raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. She will forever be remembered for her friendly and helpful disposition and her generosity and kindness. Surviving are two daughters and two sons, Pamela (Kirk) McNett of Freeland, Cynthia OHarris and her significant other, Don of Midland, John (Debbie) Rohn of Freeland and David Rohn and his significant other, Michelle of Florida; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Pete) Brown of Saginaw, Matthew Rohn of Freeland, Meghan Rohn of Freeland and Marissa Rohn of Freeland; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Brody Brown; a sister, Alice (Ed) Leddy of Saginaw; and three sisters-in-law, Leona (Ralph) Zeitler of Saginaw, Maxine (Dale) Leddy of Saginaw and Nancy (Paul) Moran of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Timothy Woolever; a grandson, Niner Rohn; an infant brother, Richard; a sister, Clara (Henry) Miller; a sister-in-law, Shirley (James) Neuenfeldt; a brother-in-law, Albert (Thelma) Rohn; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Rohn and Linda Rohn Willman; and a step-father-in-law, John Willman. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, 17927 Dice Road. Rev Paul Hauser will officiate. Burial will follow in Laporte Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Monday at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Ruth will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Zion Lutheran Church - Hemlock.
