Ruth C. Holihan Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at HealthSource, Saginaw. Age 80 years. The daughter of the late Frieda (Knieper) and Claude Munson was born December 25, 1935 in Albee Township. She married Gerald T. Holihan, September 17, 1955. Her husband of 60 years survives her. She had been employed by Michigan Bell Telephone and for Dr. Natole and Dr. Rau. She was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and volunteered for the V.N.A. Hospice. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards and especially her grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband, Gerald, are three daughters, Corene and Richard Weiland; Lisa and Jeff Slominski; Amy Holihan; five grandchildren, Josh and Ashley Weiland; Mason, Layne and Gage Slominski; three sisters, Lucy Brickel, Sarah Henige, Laura and Richard Early; a sister-in-law, Karen Munson; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Cheryl Holihan, and one brother, two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Andrew Munson, Mildred and Robert Mehl; Mary and Ellis Holten; Bob Brickel and Maurice Henige. The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2016, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then call at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy.
